In the midst of equipping combat-ready naval forces and maintaining security in the air and at sea, the U.S. Navy has recently selected an additional 600 companies for a delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award contract (MACS) under the Seaport Next Generation (SeaPort-NxG) IDIQ contract vehicle. SeaPort-NxG provides an efficient and effective means of contracting for professional support services and enhancing small business participation. Its makeup consists of companies that specialize in engineering support and program management support services. With immense gratitude, we are pleased to announce that IBEX has been awarded a Prime spot on the Seaport-NxG IDIQ contract vehicle under the general Small Business, 8(a), and Woman-Owned Small Business set-asides!
Govconwire states, “The government estimates approximately $5,000,000,000 in services will be procured per year via orders issued under SeaPort-NxG. The contracts have a 2.5-year base period of performance with an additional five-year ordering period option.” These contracts were competitively procured via Beta.Sam.Gov (now Sam.Gov), with 620 offers received.
The engineering services category covers 12 functional areas: engineering, system engineering and safety and process engineering support; research and development; and software engineering, development, programming, and network support, according to the final request for proposals. The program management category encompasses 11 functional areas, including financial analysis and budget support; quality assurance; and computer systems analysts. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, Virginia, is the contracting activity. (Govconwire)
According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the last round of awards were made in December of 2018 when the Navy awarded 1,870 businesses positions on the SeaPort-NxG vehicle.
